How to convert PDF to JPG

Questions
What resolution should I choose?
150 DPI gives roughly 1240 × 1754 pixels for an A4 page, which is enough to read on any screen. 300 DPI doubles that and quadruples the file size.
Why is the text slightly soft?
A JPG is pixels. Sharp text is vector data in the PDF and is being flattened. If you need crisp text at any zoom, use PDF to PNG instead.
Can I convert only some pages?
Every page is converted. To limit the output, extract the pages you want first and convert the shorter document.
How long does a 200-page document take?
Pages are rendered one at a time with a determinate progress bar and a Cancel control. Rate depends on the device; a laptop manages a few pages a second at 150 DPI.
