Most PDF sites process your file on their servers. Servers cost money, so they cap what you can do and sell you the cap back. All twenty-six of our tools never touch a server at all — they run inside the tab you already have open. A free user costs us nothing, so there is nothing to claw back later.

What it actually costs

The one thing that does cost us money is bandwidth: the pages, the fonts and the tool engines have to be sent to you the first time. That is a few pounds a month, it does not scale with how many files you run, and it is the entire operating cost of this website.

Questions

What is the catch?
That your own computer does the work, and that we cannot get a file back for you afterwards because we never had it. Everything else — page limits, file counts, watermarks, accounts — does not exist here rather than being sold back to you.
How is this paid for?
This site costs a few pounds a month to run, because it serves files and nothing else. There is no fleet of servers converting documents and no bill that grows with the number of people using it.
Will you put advertising on it?
No. An advertising script is a third party’s code running on the page where we ask you to open the Network tab and check what it contacts. The two cannot both be true, so the advertising is the part that does not happen.
What happens if you stop?
The tools run in your browser, so a tool you have already used keeps working offline for as long as your browser keeps its copy. Nothing you made is held hostage, because nothing you made is held.
