How to convert PDF to PNG

- Choose a resolution150 DPI is right for screens, 300 DPI for print. PNG stores every pixel exactly, so 300 DPI pages get large.

Questions
PNG or JPG?
PNG for text, tables, diagrams and screenshots, because it is lossless and edges stay sharp. JPG for photographic pages, where the files are several times smaller.
Why are the PNGs so large?
PNG stores every pixel exactly. A 300 DPI A4 page is around 8.7 million pixels, so 5–15 MB per page is normal for a dense page.
Do the images keep a transparent background?
No. Pages are rendered onto white, which is what a PDF page is defined to sit on.
Where is my file uploaded to?
Nowhere. The work runs in a Web Worker inside this tab. Open your browser’s Network panel while you use the tool — no request carries your file.
