How to add a watermark to a PDF

Can the watermark be removed again?
It is drawn into the page content, so it survives normal viewing and printing. Anyone with a PDF editor can still take it out — a watermark is a label, not a lock.
Which characters are supported?
Latin, Greek and Cyrillic, including accented letters, so a Lithuanian or Polish watermark stamps exactly as typed. Characters a standard PDF font cannot draw are embedded as a subset of the ones you used. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and Hebrew are refused by name before the run rather than stamped with holes in them.
Does PDF on a Plane add a watermark of its own?
No. Nothing here marks your file, and there is no paid tier that would remove such a mark. The only text added is the text you typed.
Can I use an image as the watermark?
Yes. Switch the watermark from Text to Image and choose a PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF. A PNG with a transparent background sits on the page rather than in a white box. The image is read in this tab and never sent anywhere.
