How to rotate PDF pages
- Drop the PDF inDrop one PDF onto the box above and wait for the page grid.
- Choose the pages and the angleTurn everything with the Rotate all control, or tick individual pages first and turn only those. The rotation is applied when you save; the thumbnails do not preview it.
- Save and downloadSelect Save, then download the rotated PDF. Nothing is redrawn, so no quality is lost and the file size barely moves.
Questions
Does rotating re-encode the page?
No. Rotation is a number stored on the page object, so nothing is redrawn and no quality is lost. The file size barely changes.
Why does a page look upright here but sideways elsewhere?
Some viewers ignore the rotation flag on scanned pages. This tool writes the standard flag, which Acrobat, Preview, Chrome and Firefox all honour.
Can I rotate only the landscape pages?
Not automatically. Select them on the grid — landscape pages are visibly wider as thumbnails — and rotate the selection.
Can I do this with the keyboard alone?
Yes. Arrow keys move between tiles, Space selects, and the rotate buttons are ordinary buttons in the tab order.
