How to convert PNG to PDF

Questions
What happens to a transparent background?
It is kept. PDF carries transparency as a soft mask alongside the picture, so the see-through parts stay see-through and the page shows white behind them, which is what a sheet of paper does.
Is the image quality reduced?
No. PDF cannot carry a PNG stream as it stands, so the pixels are unpacked and stored under PDF’s own lossless compression. Every PNG comes across exactly, photographs included.
Are screenshots readable at full size?
Yes. One pixel becomes one PDF point, so a 1200-pixel-wide screenshot makes a page 1200 points across and every pixel is there to zoom into. That is a larger sheet than the screen it came from, because a point is 1/72 inch and a screen pixel is nearer 1/96.
Where are my images uploaded to?
Nowhere. The work runs in a Web Worker inside this tab. Open your browser’s Network panel while you use the tool — no request carries your file.
